Tumble 22 opens its doors in the Arboretum neighborhood on Friday, Nov. 7.

The brand, led by Avid Noble, will serve crispy or Korean-style bone-in chicken, slaw, and a full bar. The location opens at 11 a.m. sharp. The first 75 customers to visit each month for the next 12 months will receive a free O.G. sandwich. A second location in South Lamar is scheduled to open in 2027.

This launch is part of a wave of new dining options arriving in the Austin metro area this week. In South Austin, a new Sichuan restaurant has taken over the former Beijing Wok space. The menu features heat-forward dishes such as Chongqing chili chicken, dan dan noodles, mapo tofu, and dry-fried green beans. Appetizers include soup dumplings, crab rangoons, and wontons, while the main course offers soups, noodles, rice, and seafood options.

In downtown Round Rock, local owner Brian Hernandez has opened an all-day dining spot that serves an Americana interpretation of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu includes French toast, smash burgers, and build-your-own breakfast tacos. The establishment serves coffee in the morning and draft beers, wine, and specialty cocktails later in the day.

Northwest Austin also gained a new cocktail bar that pours rotating draft cocktails alongside beer and wine. The menu features shareable items such as toasted sourdough with Texas honey butter, pork belly cracklins, seared tuna, and crispy wings. Heartier options include a double smash burger and a melt stacked with brie, gruyere, bacon, and fig jam.

Hyde Park is set to receive a new sushi bar in the former Uncle Nicky’s space in November. The venture is led by brothers Ryan and Wade McElroy, who previously operated Bird Bird Biscuit and Love Supreme, along with former Soto chef Moto Seto. The menu will feature Toyosu Market fish served as nigiri and sashimi, as well as maki, hand rolls, and small plates. Sake and natural wine will accompany the dishes.

In Hutto, married couple Tumy and Phen Diep opened Bites & Basil in early January, expanding their existing business, Broth & Basil, which they launched in Pflugerville in 2019. The new restaurant focuses on modern Vietnamese cuisine, including Texas wagyu pho made with beef from Austin-based Ranger Cattle. Tumy Diep stated that Bites & Basil was the first restaurant in the Austin area to serve this specific dish. The menu also includes pho beef rib, marinated pork chop with rice, and vermicelli bowls. Happy hour runs from 3 to 6 p.m., and the restaurant closes on Sundays so staff can spend the day with their families.
