Residents of Redding, Connecticut, will cast their votes on Tuesday, November 3, and can receive flu vaccinations at the same location. The town has scheduled a walk-in flu clinic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Redding Community Center. This venue also serves as the polling place for the state election.
The clinic operates during the hours the polls are open. The Redding Community Center is located at 37 Lonetown Road. According to the town's calendar for the week of November 2, the clinic is available to voters while they are on site.
Polling begins at 6 a.m. and ends at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. In Weston, voters will go to the gym at Weston Middle School, entering through the rear of the building. In Easton, voters will go to Easton Town Hall at 225 Center Road. Easton registrars note that same-day registration is available. They warn that absentee ballots must be received by 8 p.m. and that mail ballots sent three or four days prior have often arrived too late in previous years.
For those looking to dispose of household chemicals, the Housatonic Resources Recovery Authority will hold its final drop-off day for the year on Saturday, November 7. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brookfield High School, 45 Long Meadow Hill Road. The weather will not stop the event, and waits are estimated between five and 30 minutes.
The drop-off site accepts paints, stains, pool chemicals, pesticides, aerosol cans, waste fuels, and one-pound propane cylinders. It does not accept motor oil, antifreeze, electronics, fluorescent bulbs, or auto batteries. Residents of Weston and Redding may attend, as both towns are members of the authority. Easton is not a member town. Drivers should remain in their vehicles, bring a driver's license for proof of residency, and place items in the back of the vehicle.
Easton's Board of Finance and Planning and Zoning Commission will meet on the evening of Election Day. The Board of Finance meets at the Easton Senior Center, while the Planning and Zoning Commission meets in Conference Room A at Town Hall. Both meetings start at 7 p.m. As of Friday, neither group had posted an agenda. The Zoning Board of Appeals meeting scheduled for that same night is canceled.
In Redding, property inspections for the 2027 townwide revaluation are ongoing. Assessor's Office representatives are visiting homes in person over the next few months. This process will set the grand list for October 2027 and determine tax bills for July 2028. Inspectors must show identification when they visit.
Residents are not legally required to allow inspectors inside their homes. However, the town asks for cooperation to ensure properties are listed correctly. Those with questions can contact the Assessor's Office at 203-938-2626.
