Ukrainian military commanders recorded 189 combat encounters along the front line during the 24-hour period ending at 08:00 on Thursday, October 29. The General Staff released the data on its official Facebook page, marking the heaviest volume of activity reported in the latest morning update.
The Pokrovsk direction absorbed the majority of these engagements. Ukrainian troops neutralized 42 Russian attacks in this sector. Assaults targeted specific locations including Serhiivka, Molodetske, and Novopavlivka. Russian forces also attempted to advance toward 13 other settlements, such as Toretske, Kucheriv Yar, and Udachne.
Combat continued at a lower intensity on the Kostiantynivka front, where defenders repelled 18 attacks. Clashes occurred near Kostiantynivka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, and Petrivka, among other nearby villages. Further south, the Huliaipole front saw nine Russian attempts to push forward, all of which were turned back by Ukrainian units.
Activity spread across the northern and northeastern sectors as well. On the South Slobozhanshchyna front, Ukrainian forces stopped seven Russian advances near Ternova and Starytsia. The North Slobozhanshchyna front recorded four attacks near Tovstodubove and Ulanove. Defenders on the Lyman front repelled five assaults near Lyman and Dibrova, while the Sloviansk and Kupiansk fronts each saw limited Russian probing actions.
Two sectors remained largely quiet according to the report. Russian forces did not launch any assaults on the Kramatorsk front. Similarly, no active operations were recorded on the Prydniprovske front. The General Staff noted that conditions on the Volyn and Polissia fronts stayed stable, with no signs of Russian offensive groups assembling in that region.
The next morning update from the General Staff is scheduled for release on October 30. Military analysts will compare the 189 total clashes with previous daily figures to assess the tempo of operations in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka directions.
