The Ice Ribbon returns to Grand Junction Plaza in Westfield, Indiana, on Nov. 21. The outdoor rink operates until Jan. 2.
The facility uses Glice, a synthetic surface that permits skating in any weather condition. Mayor Scott Willis said in a release that the city hopes residents will include the plaza in their winter plans. “Whether you’re trying skating for the first time or returning for another season, we hope you’ll make a visit to Grand Junction Plaza part of your winter plans,” Willis said.
Tickets become available Nov. 6 at 8 a.m. at theiceatgrandjunction.com. Patrons must reserve sessions online in advance. Each 90-minute session costs $10 per person plus processing fees. The price covers skate rental.
The rink provides ADA-accessible sleds and skate aids for beginners at no extra cost. These items are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. All skaters must check in at the Grand Junction Café Pavilion building before their assigned time slot.
Extended hours are scheduled during the Westfield Washington School District’s winter break. The plaza will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
