TeamLab Signs $100 Million Deal for Permanent Anaheim Presence

The Samueli family, billionaire owners of the Anaheim Ducks, has finalized a deal worth more than $100 million to bring the Japanese digital art collective TeamLab to California. This arrangement marks the group's first permanent exhibition space in the United States.

TeamLab was founded in Tokyo in 2001 by Toshiyuki Inoko. The collective operates with a multidisciplinary staff comprising artists, programmers, engineers, and mathematicians. The group focuses on blending art, science, and nature through immersive technology.

The new venue will be located in Anaheim, approximately 30 miles south of Los Angeles. It sits about a 10-minute drive from Disneyland. The facility will occupy a building designed by the California-based architecture firm Smith-Clementi.

This project serves as a central element of OCVIBE, a $5 billion development plan. The initiative will transform roughly 100 acres of land surrounding the Honda Center into a multiuse district. The area will include housing, offices, hotels, and entertainment venues.

Bloomberg reported on Thursday that the Samueli family will fully fund the TeamLab Anaheim construction. The facility is projected to open in 2030. Developers have already released visual renders of the space to the public.

The group currently maintains permanent locations in Macao, Shanghai, Beijing, Jeddah, and Hamburg. Its two Tokyo venues attracted more than 4.2 million visitors in 2025. The developers aim to replicate that level of global popularity in Southern California.
